Under the Nile
Under the Nile was founded 20 years ago because of a mom’s mission to find clothing for her babies at the time (not so little anymore now) that would not irritate their skin. The more she researched, the more convinced she became to start her own organic cotton baby clothing company that would not only benefit her children – but all children.
Under the Nile is committed to providing the highest quality baby clothes in a sustainable and socially responsible manner, while demonstrating authenticity and transparency in our business practices.
Our philosophy is to enrich the planet and the lives of everyone involved with our business, from “cotton to customer”.
4 Key Seals of Approval
Under the Nile took the lead and was the first baby clothing company in the USA to become GOTS certified.
All of the cotton that we use at Under the Nile is Biodynamic.
We are the only baby clothing company in the world to carry the Gold Seal of Egyptian Cotton, and have always exclusively used 100% authentic Egyptian Cotton for our products.
Our cotton is certified by the National Organic Program (NOP), which is strictly regulated by the USDA. The farm that grows our cotton adheres to firm standards at soil and water quality, as well as wetland, woodland and wildlife conservation. Synthetic fertilizers and genetic engineering are strictly prohibited.
All our products are fair traded.
This means all of our Fair Trade baby clothes are made in Egypt at a Certified FLO-Cert facility.
Under the Nile is a label of NatureTex (that holds the Gold Seal of Egyptian Cotton) which belongs to the umbrella company SEKEM (that holds the Fairtrade Certificate).
